Therapy with Alex

Welcome!

I am a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker in Washington State and specialize in working with individuals affected by various forms of trauma.

I deeply value the unique strengths, experiences and expertise each individual holds and ensure these are incorporated in our therapy process.

My therapeutic orientation is based through a cognitive-behavioral lens. We will explore how the impact of trauma, anxiety, depression has on overall functioning; reflecting on life, career, and relationship stressors. Greater insight is gained by processing our experiences. This deepens the connection with the self, providing greater curiosity, freedom and peace.

I have had successful outcomes utilizing evidenced-based practices such as cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), Prolonged Exposure (PE) and Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT).

About me

I am from the Seattle area and used school as a way to explore other parts of the country.

I received my bachelors of arts in psychology and sociology from DePaul University, in Chicago, IL and my master’s in clinical social work from Simmons College, in Boston, Massachusetts. I missed the pacific northwest and moved back in 2016.

I continue training and I have completed all coursework required for chemical dependency professionals through Seattle Central College. I am experienced working with youth, adults and families within various community-based organizations in Chicago, Boston and Greater Seattle. Additionally, I have provided mental health and substance use treatment in the educational and legal systems.

When I’m not working as therapist, I enjoy adventuring with friends, family and my dog.
